Yak Wool Beanie
A sustainable accessory to upgrade cold mornings and bad hair days— introducing the new L+O Yak Wool Beanies! Our rib knit Yak wool beanie features contrasting chunky ribbing on the band for added comfort and a relaxed fit.
Our premium Yak Wool Beanie weaves together the traditional Mongolian practice of yak herding and contemporary artisanal Mongolian-led manufacturing techniques. Mongolia has a long history of nomadic traditions, including raising yaks for transportation, wool, meat and milk.
Yaks are believed to have first been domesticated almost ten thousand years ago on the Tibetan plateau. Over time through trade, they have become very abundant at higher altitudes in the mountainous regions of Mongolia. They are commonly raised their incredible ability to transport goods and withstand harsh Mongolian winters.
Yak wool is a sustainable textile that is warmer than sheep wool and more breathable than cashmere. Our 95% Yak Wool yarn is reinforced with 5% Nylon for superior durability so you can love your beanie for as long as possible. We are opposed to harmful acid-dyed yarns and fabrics, so our beanies are available in a gorgeous all-natural (undyed) color.
The added production value of our beanies remains within the country to support the local textile industry. Everything from herder relations to yarn development and final garment construction occurs in Mongolia by Mongolians.
This item is available for PRESALE and will be SHIPPED before October 20th! Thank you!
